Hi Bubble, I have found two things affect sliding: 1) the material of your pants, and 2) the arm which lightly holds the guitar against your chest (right arm if right handed). You can experiment with both of these things. I like wearing jeans when I practice. Also I use a guitar support instead of a foot rest, not sure if that makes any difference.
