When:

The inaugural Classical Guitar Corner Summer School will be held from  June 11 through June 17th 2018.

Where :

The summer school will be held at Endicott College in Beverly MA. Endicott is a picturesque liberal arts college in the town of Beverly. Beverly Massechusetts is located 16 Miles out from the city of Boston, and is located opposite the ocean on the scenic North Shore coastline.

What:

The CGC Summer School will bring together dedicated amateur guitarist from around the country (and around the world!) to work on their technique, theory, musicianship, ensemble skills and general musical understanding. There will be five full days of group ensembles, individual lessons, workshops, large ensemble, musical analysis, and socializing with other guitarists.

Teachers:

There will be six main teachers as well as some special guests at the Summer School and being an intimate environment, you will be able to interact with them all on a regular basis.

Who is it for?

The summer school is specifically focused on the classical guitar, its techniques and repertoire. It is reccomended that you have at least a Level 1 ability with reading and performance (approximately grade 2 for AMEB/ABRSM/Royal Conservaroire). You will be participating in ensemble groups that match your level of experience and also a large ensemble, so the ability to read standard notation at a basic level is a must. Apart from these requirements we welcome all interested guitarists to take part in what will be an educational and enjoyable experience.

*Please note that all participants must be over the age of 21 by June 2018, this is due to our liability coverage.

Accommodation

Participants will be staying on campus at Endicott College close to the Arts facilities, dining hall, and rehearsal rooms.  Rooms are available as private rooms with a private bathroom or shared rooms with a private bathroom. All rooms have air conditioning, wi-fi and are in a new building.

Meals

The price of accommodation includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, starting from Dinner on the 15th until breakfast on the 21st. The meals at Endicott are quite exceptional with a large modern dining hall, and a variety of meal stations to choose from.

Please inform us if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Socializing

Meal times and evenings are great times to socialize with your fellow guitarists. Picnics, playing pool, talking over a glass of wine, and discussing ideas over a meal all provide a great way to make friends and have fun.

Stretch Classes

Each morning you will have the option to partake in stretching classes. Led by professional dancer, Evita Powis, its a great way to start the day!
