Another wonderful podcast Roger! Nancy-loved your description of “the guitar line-up” preceeding Bertie’s ‘Catalina debut’…as you know your guitar reviews have inspired great purchases! Also Nancy-your touchpoint method discussion with Roger I found eye opening..so many possibilities in taking on a piece to help our brains absorb complexities of classical guitar–thank-you! Maybe when you are ready you will share your Sor #2 interpretative study that you mentioned at an Open Mic!
A rising tide floats all boats……this interview certainly raised my spirits. Thank you Nancy and Roger. So many wonderful details. I was really struck by the image of a huge room devoted to a large record collection and the time and space for listening to music and dreaming, what good fortune. Congratulations on the beautiful duet collaboration with Jane.
What a wonderful podcast! Nancy, you seem so comfortable behind the mic and you’re a natural story teller. Well done! You left us all wondering what was in that neighbor’s box. I thought for sure it was going to be guitar. Oh well. I really enjoyed hearing your story. Rodger, enjoy the much needed time off for the summer.
Thank you, Roger and Nancy, for such an informative and inspirational hour. Nancy’s journey to classical guitar was a fun listen, and I really enjoyed her enthusiasm and desire to learn. Her being able to get with Jane and work on duets together is awesome. I’m happy for them and sheepishly admit a bit of envy!
Roger, I really appreciate your doing these interviews. I have little awareness of the effort involved from setting up an interview to completing the podcast, but it has to be quite a bit. Your members’ podcast is one of the best things going at CGCA, in my opinion, and that’s a high bar already. I always pick up my guitar with renewed motivation after the latest podcast. Thank you so very much.
Such a terrific interview, and thank you both! It was great getting to know you, Nancy! And, Roger, I was interested to hear that you are now in charge of your own yardwork. How is that working for your right-hand nails? :)
It was so enjoyable to hear Nancy’s musical journey, especially after hearing her duet challenge partner Jane’s in a very recent podcast. As I followed their videos in the challenge, I was surprised to learn that Nancy is still in Grade 1 as she played with great skill and confidence opposite Jane. Thanks for another great podcast Roger, and best of luck with tending to the yard in your new home.
Roger, thank you for yet another wonderful podcast! I loved learning more about Nancy through the colorful stories that she shared. It’s been a delight to be able to visit with her in person to play duets and chat over tea. Little did I know when I joined the CGC to continue my guitar journey that I’d gain such a good friend to enjoy the journey with!
Thanks to all of you for listening and for your kind comments! It was fun chatting with Roger and in turn connecting with you all. I’m looking forward to tuning in to the next episode and hearing another member story when Roger returns at the end of the summer.
Hi Roger and Nancy – thanks for another great podcast! Nancy, what a wonderful experience to be exposed to a great collection of music albums as a child. I can just imagine the pure joy of lying on that music room floor as a child and listening to the music of great composers! Thank you for sharing your story!
Hi Roger. Enjoyed the podcast and the positive outlook that Nancy brings to her guitar journey. It was also great to learn I may have had some influence in your pursuits with DaVinci Resolve and Reaper. Just be careful not to make too many audio edits as you may “reaper” what you sow! 😁

Thank you Roger and Nancy. Nancy, your candid appraisal of early experiences, family, and your guitar journey is delightful to learn about.
p.s. I am smiling about Rick’s comment:)
Another great episode! Nancy had me laughing out loud. Roger, enjoy your break, but not too long. We junkies are getting the DTs. 😂😂
Stay strong, my friends!
