I did a masterclass with Hillary Fields.

She had some really good points to work on. It’ll take me a little while to digest.
For my performance, I felt I choked up a bit. :(
A progress video of this piece. I have a master class on sunday ( with Hilary Field ) and will perform this piece for her.
I was also playing around with my multi-cam setup also. I put in an image slide show from Tsiorba guitars ( a Portland based luthier ). This video was done withOUT any post processing. I just trimmed the start and…[Read more]
Hi Magdalena, that would be so awesome to hear you play this at the next summer school!
If you are liking the African themed classical guitar music, here is another that I really like:
I was previewing some of the more advanced grade levels, and there is a piece called Birds Flew Over the Spire by Gary Ryan. It’s a great piece. While browsing around for this composer on youtube, I found another piece of his which is really incredible also, called Benga Beat – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wL4snMJbLks
Thanks for all your supportive comments! Initially, I was not liking the snowflight piece, since the piece sounded simplistic. However, I listened to the York masterclass on it ( https://classical.guitarcorneracademy.com/courses/masterclasses/lessons/andrewyork/ ) and it was helpful to hear all the complexity that can be put into a “simple”…[Read more]

I found a plug in for OBS called “advanced scene switcher” https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/advanced-scene-switcher.395/ and played around with it. I have 3 scenes and it switches between each scene automatically every 5 seconds. This…[Read more]
Thanks for the tip Roger.. I’ll put my camera on a tripod to get a better camera angle.
Steve, I did try using a camcorder with an HDMI output, to an HDMI to webcam converter. But the latency was really bad, imho. I used the elgato hdmi adatper. It might have been something else wrong in my setup, but the latency was really frustrating and i…[Read more]
I’ve been fiddling around with cameras and mics for a few weeks now. I have a setup which I am happy with the audio, video, and synching.
Here is a video of me doing a short clip: https://youtu.be/ZDz3XZvgX-8
It uses a multi camera setup, both plugged into my macbook. The combining is via a free tool called OBS.
Audiowise, I have 2 xlr mics…[Read more]
Hi Maria.. in the grade exam submission forum, direct link here ( https://classical.guitarcorneracademy.com/CGCforums/forum/certificate-submissions/ ), people will post the evaluations for others to see.
For the people that have posted, I’ve watched a few, and they were very helpful. You’ll also see how much time/thought that Simon and dave…[Read more]
