These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the websites and services operated by Powis Studios LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), including classicalguitarcorner.com, classical.guitarcorneracademy.com, and cgcpublishing.com, together with the CGC Academy membership and any books, courses, and community features we offer (the “Services”).
By using our Services or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Who may use the Services
You must be at least the age of majority in your place of residence to create an account or make a purchase. You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it up to date.
Your account
Each membership is licensed to one individual. Your membership is personal to you and may not be shared, sold, or transferred. You must not share your login credentials or allow another person to access the Services through your account, including family members, friends, students, or colleagues.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and, subject to applicable law, for activity under your account. Please tell us promptly at support@classicalguitarcorner.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
You may access your account from your own devices and while travelling. Access from multiple IP addresses or countries does not, by itself, establish account sharing. You must not use VPNs, proxies, additional accounts, or other methods to conceal account sharing or circumvent access restrictions.
Membership and billing
CGC Academy is a paid membership offered on the plans and at the prices shown on our site at the time you join. By starting a membership, you authorize us and our payment processors to charge your chosen payment method for the plan you select.
Automatic renewal. Memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period, such as quarterly or annually, at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date.
Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless your account is suspended or terminated under these Terms, your membership and access remain active through the period you have already paid for. Cancellation does not result in a prorated refund, except where required by law.
30-day money-back guarantee. You may request a full refund within 30 days of your initial membership purchase by contacting support@classicalguitarcorner.com, subject to the exclusions below. This voluntary guarantee applies only to your first membership purchase. Renewals and subsequent membership purchases are not covered, except where a refund is required by law.
Guarantee exclusions for substantiated abuse. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the voluntary 30-day money-back guarantee does not apply where we substantiate that you knowingly:
- Shared your login credentials or permitted another person to use your membership.
- Distributed, resold, or made Academy content available to others without our written permission.
- Engaged in prohibited systematic downloading or automated content extraction as described below.
- Circumvented access controls or download restrictions to obtain content in breach of these Terms.
Before denying a refund on these grounds, we will explain the relevant conduct and evidence and give you a reasonable opportunity to respond and request a review. Download volume or access from multiple IP addresses or countries alone will not establish abuse.
These exclusions apply only to initial membership purchases made after the exclusions were clearly disclosed and accepted before purchase. They do not retrospectively change the guarantee attached to an earlier purchase.
Statutory rights. Our voluntary guarantee is additional to any mandatory cancellation, withdrawal, refund, or other consumer rights. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Price changes. We may change our prices from time to time. We will give you reasonable notice before a new price takes effect.
Purchases from the publishing store
Books, sheet music, and other materials sold through cgcpublishing.com are licensed to you for your own personal use. Because these are digital products delivered immediately, sales are generally final except where a refund is required by law or stated in the product’s own terms.
Our content and intellectual property
All content we provide, including lessons, videos, recordings, sheet music, books, exercises, text, graphics, and the design of our sites, is owned by Powis Studios LLC or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws.
Your membership gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use this content for your own learning while your membership is active.
Except for permitted personal downloads and uses expressly authorized by us or applicable law, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, resell, publicly perform or display, or post our content elsewhere, in whole or in part, without our written permission. Materials you download, such as PDFs, are for your personal use only and must not be shared with others.
Permitted downloads and prohibited systematic downloading
We provide downloadable materials to support your personal learning. You may download materials made available through our download features for your current studies and keep reasonable personal backups.
You must not:
- Use bots, scripts, scrapers, download managers configured for automated bulk extraction, or similar tools to collect Academy content without our written permission.
- Systematically download complete courses or substantial portions of the Academy library to create an offline archive beyond the materials reasonably needed for your current studies.
- Download content for redistribution, resale, shared storage, or use by another person.
- Bypass access controls, download restrictions, or other technical safeguards.
- Record or extract videos, audio, or other content for which we do not provide a download feature, unless we have given written permission or applicable law permits it.
These restrictions apply whether the activity is performed manually or through automated tools. Ordinary downloading for your current studies, replacing lost files, and reasonable personal backups are permitted. Downloading a large number of files does not, by itself, establish a violation.
If you need a complete course download or another arrangement outside these permissions, contact support@classicalguitarcorner.com before proceeding.
Content you post
Our community features let you post messages, journals, recordings, and other content. You keep ownership of what you post, but you grant us a non-exclusive license to host, display, and share it within the Services so the community can function.
You are responsible for the content you post, confirm that you have the right to share it, and agree to follow our Code of Conduct. We may remove content or restrict accounts that breach these Terms or that Code.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Services. This includes not sharing your account, accessing content or areas you are not entitled to, copying or extracting content beyond the permissions in these Terms, harassing or harming other members, interfering with the operation of the Services, or using the Services for an unlawful purpose.
Investigation, suspension, and termination
Where we reasonably suspect account sharing, unauthorized distribution, prohibited downloading, or another material breach, we may temporarily restrict access or downloads while investigating. Where reasonably practicable, we will explain the concern and provide an opportunity to respond. We may act immediately where necessary to protect account security, our content, or the Services.
We will consider the available evidence and any explanation you provide. Multiple IP addresses, geographic locations, or a high download count alone will not establish a violation.
Where a material breach is substantiated, we may suspend or close your account. Refund eligibility will be assessed separately under the refund provisions applicable to your purchase and applicable law. Suspension or termination does not automatically forfeit a refund entitlement.

You may stop using the Services at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, will continue to apply after your account ends.
Third-party services and links
We use third-party providers to run the Services, including payment processors such as Stripe, PayPal, and Shopify. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms.
Our sites may link to other websites we do not control, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
Disclaimers
We care deeply about helping you make progress, but learning an instrument depends on many things, including your own practice. The Services and all content are provided “as is,” and we do not guarantee any specific result, outcome, or level of achievement.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free. These disclaimers apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Powis Studios LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services.
Subject to any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Powis Studios LLC from claims, losses, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Services or your breach of these Terms.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will give reasonable notice, identify when the changes take effect, and update the date above. Where required by law, we will obtain your agreement.
Changes apply prospectively. They do not retrospectively remove refund rights attached to an earlier purchase or make conduct occurring before a new restriction took effect a breach of that restriction.
Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory consumer protections require otherwise.
Subject to any mandatory rights you have to bring proceedings elsewhere, disputes relating to these Terms or the Services will be handled in the courts located in Texas.
