That was a ton of great stuff all in one podcast; thank you again for doing these Roger! I loved your talk with Richard about performance and the anxiety that goes with it. I read all of Dr. Kageyama’s newsletters and I thought about looking at his course, but I don’t perform so it doesn’t make sense. Richard, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it when you get done!
Kia Ora, Mr. Croad!
You are a man of many talents! Thank you for bringing them to CGC and inspiring a multitude of members, myself included, on this musical journey of yours. Can’t wait to see all you do in the years to come.
Cheers!
What a fun podcast! Thanks, Roger! And hearing the CGC Virginia meet-up play your piece was amazing! Congrats!
Richard – It was great to hear about your musical experiences and how you manage to fit classical guitar in while traveling around the world! It’s reassuring to hear that you (and Roger!) decided not to do a certificate submission, but rather to go over the level you’re working on more deeply. I did the same thing and I really feel it was the right choice. I’m going to concentrate on overcoming both stage fright and recording fright, and on participating in more of the opportunities available on the site! Thanks for the inspiration!
What a great podcast Roger! Thank you! And thank you Richard, for sharing your story with us. Your family sounds fascinating and very talented. I’ll look forward to meeting you in person at Summer School next year. “Majestic” sounded great Roger. When playing one of the parts in an ensemble I find myself concentrating so much on hearing my own part that I can’t really appreciate the piece in its entirety, so it was a real treat to hear the recording. Thanks again for flying down to join us. Your presence added immensely to a very special memory for me. Keep composing, please! Best, Shorty
Great interview – I so identify with the performance anxiety Richard! And hearing the Va meetup section including the regal ‘majestic’ was an added bonus!
I was expecting to share my breakfast with you (Roger) and Richard but got to finish my last cup of coffee with the entire CGCA Virginia meet up…what a treat! Great podcast!!
Thank you, Roger, for including me in the Member’s Podcast series, along side other famous people such as Simon and Dave and, of course, the world podcast premiere of “Majestic” played by the CGC Virginia Meetup Guitar Ensemble. 😎
Hi, Great podcast! Thank you Richard and Roger for the interesting reflections. Richard’s sense of balance as a person is to be admired, his family experience, work and music are an inspiration! Finishing with the Virginia meet-up is fun. Majestic is…majestic!
Thank you Roger and Richard for a wonderful podcast. Both of you have been an inspiration to my learning over these last years. I appreciated the discussion regarding working through the grades. Like Roger, I pressure myself to “get to the next level”; but like Richard, I am wanting to learn all the new pieces and absorb the lessons well. I’ll see what happens come April, but this discussion created a space for me to consider holding off until September to submit.

Another informative and enjoyable podcast. My thanks to the host, Roger, and all the participants who are willing to be so open in the dialogue.

What a fascinating interview! I’m going to have to check out the travel guitar – it sounds like quite a tricky piece of business.
Thanks Richard and Roger
